Introducing a new level of PLAY for the 2025 SY!
This PEP-eligible class is designed for homeschoolers or for families looking for a “soft transition”to elementary school.
Just like in our Fours program, classes will include an age-appropriate literacy curriculum, outdoor learning, social-emotional skills, free play, STEM, and process art. Our Kindergarten class will also be working on long-term projects driven by student interests, extending over the course of the semester.
Children in this age group are mastering language skills and looking for more complex ways to express themselves through storytelling, writing, play and art. In order to meet their individual needs, we use a wide range of learning tools, including hands-on experiences in math, science and language arts. Other activities include journaling, outdoor education, building activities, crafts that incorporate large-concept learning, and lots of one-on-one engagement with teachers. Our meaningful, experiential curriculum allows the VPK students to delve deeper into their own curiosity as well as the cognitive learning concepts they need for Kindergarten

This class expands on our VPK curriculum with more hands-on literacy and STEM projects, with activities in both English and Spanish. It is a great bonus program for those families considering dual-language choice programs, as well as those looking for a little extra help in preparing for Kindergarten!

For many children, our threes program is their first introduction to a school environment, so we focus much of the time on socio-emotional development. Children are learning to express themselves through play, language, and behavior. We use Conscious Discipline curriculum tools to guide them through this process. We help them explore the world around them through group play, independent exploration, and large-group hands-on lessons. We facilitate whole-child development through stories, puzzles, science activities and free play both indoors and outdoors. We emphasize literacy through shared stories, one-on-one interactions with staff, and lessons on the world around us.
Children must be fully potty-trained to participate in our preschool programs.
Families of these littles will get to explore all of the facets of our play-based learning philosophy together:
nature play, an interactive read-aloud, a process-art project, music & movement, and social-emotional support through a special Conscious Discipline parenting tool or strategy included with each class!
Classes will begin with 30 minutes of free play in our backyard playground and then move on to a circle time literacy acivity, an exploration of the day’s learning theme through process art, and end with a Conscious Discipline activity and music and movement fun.
A parent or guardian is required to stay and participate with each child in the class.
